Trader Joe's (TJ) don't run on specials, discounts, or sales because the prices are as low as it can possibly be, every day. They have a wide selection with quality items. Advocate TJ shoppers will know TJ can't get any cheaper because all of the brands are only sold at TJ so there is no incentive to up to price from advertising. Most items are either prepared or half-prepared to make your life easier. There is a wide variety of beer and wine. It's cheap but it is very good.
Not to mention, customer service is top-notch. All cashiers are helpful and informative. TJ strives to have customer interaction within their staffers so all employees are usually out in the aisle helping a customer.
