It is way too often that we wake up even more tired than we felt when we went to bed. There are dozens of factors that can impact the quality of your sleep, and we all need that good night’s sleep in order to wake up well-rested and be focused throughout the day. Even though this seems almost impossible, there are small things that you can do and a few habits to change in order to start your day fully energized.
Go to Bed with Positive Thoughts
When preparing for bed at night, try to keep your thoughts positive. Don’t go over the things you have to do the next day in your head, rather, try to empty your mind and relax. You can pray if you’d like about all the positive things in your life. Express some gratitude over the things you already have and just be mindful. You can also repeat any certain mantra if you have it and keep your thoughts positive and light in order to minimize stress before bed and to simply relax.
Don’t Hit the Snooze Button
We all love those 5 extra minutes of sleep in the morning, but those can make you feel more tired actually. Set your alarm for when you have to get up to start your day and stick to that. Hitting the snooze button over and over again just leads to fiful and fragmented sleeping and you end up waking up feeling tired. It is hard to wake up on the first try and if you don’t trust yourself to wake up fully without hitting the snooze button, try moving your alarm clock or phone away from your bed in order to be obligated to get up.
Don’t Use Your Phone Before Bed
When we use our phones and other devices right before bed, the light they emit trick our brain into being awake. So, when you’re using them your brain still thinks it’s daylight and will suppress the melatonin production. We need melatonin for quality sleep, so try avoiding using your phone and devices before going to bed in order to sleep better.
Meditate
In order to properly prepare our bodies for sleep, we need to unwind and relax. One great way to do so is meditation. You can start with simple breathing exercises before bed in order to cool your head down and relax. What is more, you can go through some guided meditations and even use shungite harmonizers for meditation from Wellness Hut which will help you clean your body and soul from negativity and get ready for bed. And by going to bed stress-free, you will feel refreshed in the morning.
Start Exercising
A great way to feel refreshed in the morning is by getting your blood flowing. You can start exercising every morning in order to wake up your body and mind and get ready for the day. However, you don’t have to do any vigorous exercising right in the morning. You can do some light stretching or ten minutes of light cardio to get your body fueled up and ready for the day.
Light Snacks
Avoid eating too late in the night or right before bed. This can upset your stomach and keep you tossing and turning all night. Instead, rely on light snacks half an hour before bed in order to keep your stomach full but not working non stop. Also, start your morning with a piece of fruit or protein filled breakfast and your body will get all the necessary energy to wake up and get ready.
Mornings can be tough on all of us, but there are things that can help lighten the mood early in the morning. It all starts with a healthy bedtime routine and a few morning exercises and you will notice how suddenly you will become a morning person. This is all just because you get the energy and great rest during the night.
