5. Free Solo
Daring. Passion. Greatness. That is what Free Solo emulates. This documentary tells the story of Alex Honnold's path to solo climbing El Capitan, a 3,200 foot-wall in Yosemite National Park. He was the first person to ever climb El Capitan without any safety gear to save him if he ever made a mistake. To think about climbing something that tall with gear makes me nervous, let alone the boldness to take in on without gear. It changes the entire game. You have to rely on your strength and endurance the whole time, even when you need a break. It is worthy to become one of the most athletic achievements ever. This heart-stopping film takes you through his life in preparation for this moment, as well as the people around him being just as worried about the stakes that are at risk.
4. The Simpsons
The long showing American sitcom is now on Disney+. All 30 seasons of it. This show will definitely bring the nostalgic of watching the show for years. I think this is a huge “plus” for Disney+ to have one of the most iconic shows on their platform. It close to having the same “it” factor as Friends or The Office. It’s a show that they love to have playing while they are relaxing and taking a break. The show has been on for so long that you’ve might have missed several seasons, but now its time that you can watch every season (hopefully not all in one sitting). The fact that you can see the funny stuff that Homer and Bart Simpson do is a sight for everyone.
3. Boy Meets World
Cory, Topanga, Eric, and Shawn. This group of teens starred in my favorite coming-of-age sitcom. It followed the storyline of Cory Matthews, an average teen, and his life through middle school to college. The series showcases to mischief that teens get into when they don’t care that much for school, young love, and bonds between best friends and brothers. Let’s not forget about our favorite teacher, Mr.Feeny, who ended up teaching Cory throughout the whole series. How crazy is that? The show definitely hits a number of different topics, as each character has to deal with things related to their individual situations. It a series all young children should watch and learn from.
2. All the Original Animated Disney Movies
This might be a cheat since I’m bundling together a collection of movies, but it’s a must to not have the list filled with the movies. Lion King, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, and more have been remade for the younger generation to encompass the magic of the classic Disney movies. The purpose of this is to watch the original animated version of the movies to see how they are compared to the live-action version made now. The generations that watched the originals, tend to want to see the remakes and see how the producers go about making an animated movie and bring it to life for the audience. To make it even better, live-action versions of The Little Mermaid and Mulan are coming out, so being able to watch the original movies first, can spark a little amazement of how different. Overall, watching the classic animated Disney movies is a must for all ages to see the original Disney magic.
1.The Mandalorian
Many people were hoping for a stand-alone Boba Fett film, but we got the next best thing in a TV series about a Mandalorian Bounty Hunter, who is part of the same race as Boba Fett. The Mandalorians are a race of people who are skilled warriors that become mercenaries and bounty hunters. The series follows the Mandalorian in a time where the empire has fallen and in a place where the New Republic’s authority is out of reach. I like how they brought back the carbon freezing after it used by Boba Fett and a droid bounty hunter that looks very similar to droid IG-11, whom we saw back in the original trilogy with Boba Fett and the other bounty hunters. I’m hoping the Mandalorian teams up with IG-11 look alike and others from the original trilogy to form the bounty hunter group I’ve always wanted. Just to group everything together, you also get all the Star Wars movies, but you do have to wait for The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker to come onto the platform. It’s awesome that you can finally watch all of the movies in any order you want on one platform. I personally prefer to watch in the order of the stand-alone films, IV, V, I, II, III, VI, VII, VIII, and then The Rise of Skywalker. For Star Wars fans, it is a great time to be able to see the whole entire storyline play out, and further expansion of the galaxy.
