Coffee or Tea?

Let's face it, for those of us that have caffeine each morning and throughout the day, we usually have a preference over which is more enjoyable and which gives the desired results. Both give that jolt of energy needed to start the day or to continue being productive throughout the day. Both can come iced, hot, or made in a specialty way. Let's go through the benefits and disadvantages of coffee and tea,  and you can decide which is the drink for you.

I am a big fan of coffee and drink it because, in my mind,  I associate it with being productive. There have been studies done that found several health  benefits to drinking coffee daily (such as reduced risk of dying prematurely from certain diseases). Pure coffee is also a natural diabetic (if that is something you need) and also contains many antioxidants that are healthy to  consumers. There have also been studies that show a correlation between coffee protection against type 2-diabetes, some  cancers, and Parkinson disease.

All good things must eventually come to an end, so now let's discuss that disadvantages of consuming coffee. Coffee has a higher caffeine content, compared to tea, so it has  been know to increase anxiety levels  in individuals. There is also the fact that  coffee stains  your teeth a horrid yellowish color that is definitely not appealing. Also, coffee is acidic,  so for those with  stomach or digestive  issues, it  may cause more harm that good. Drinking  several  cups of  coffee each day has  also  been  linked to higher risks of developing  high-blood pressure  as well as heart-related diseases.

Now, tea actually has non-surprisingly several health benefits. It is a lot more rich in antioxidants than coffee, and has more  heart-healthy benefits. Studies have detailed that those who consume tea are at  reduced risk of developing  heart-disease and for having a  stroke. Tea has also been correlated with users and a higher brain health, and that Tea may boost  memory  ability in some.

In terms of disadvantages of tea, the most obvious is stained teeth (no  you cannot escape the stain). There have also been studies that conclude Tea may have an adverse effect on  iron absorption in the body.

Based on the number of pros and cons for each, it appears that tea is the healthier option for those looking for a dose of caffeine. For those looking for a stronger jolt, coffee is definitely the better option.

For the most part, it comes down to personal preference. I like the bitter taste of coffee so I usually drink that, but a nice cup of  tea at the end of the day is nice, too.
