Supreme Court Oks Online Sales Tax

The Supreme Court has ruled that states can collect taxes from online retailers without a physical presence there, reports The Wall Street Journal. Several states had argued that traditional retailers were at a disadvantage, and governments were losing billions of dollars since they mostly could not tax online sales. CNBC reports that shares of large online retailers like Amazon and Ebay fell following news of the decision.
