Part 1 of the season finale ended with Jed and Tyler meeting Hannah's parents. Tyler gets a good first impression by her parents, whereas Jed does not. Her parents are very skeptical of Jed's career path and Hannah is disappointed at their lack of support for Jed.
Moving forward to the second part, the show moves onto the next day, proposal day! As Hannah gets ready and heads over to the proposal site, she's very conflicted because although she knows who she wants to pick, she can't face the awful decision of breaking up with the other person.
So usually during the show, the first guy that goes to the proposal site goes home. And that guy happens to be... Tyler :(
As my personal front-runner, I was very sad that he came to the proposal site first. He goes up to Hannah as she waits for him and he says his speech about how much he loves her, cares for her, he wants to spend the rest of his life with her, blah blah blah. Before he kneels, she stops him and says she has someone else in her heart. Tyler looked very disappointed, sad, shocked, and heartbroken.
After sending him home, Jed comes out and again, he says his whole speech. Hannah affirms Jed and says "I love you." He kneels and proposes to Hannah.
Next, the episode shows Hannah confused and Jed basically confronts Hannah about the whole drama. If you haven't been keeping up with news, Jed had a girlfriend (Hailey) before coming onto the show. She met Jed's parents (which confirms why his parents were so against Hannah B during hometown week), Jed said I love you to Hailey, and they even went to the Bahamas together months before the show started. Hannah confronts Jed and breaks the engagement with him.
The show then moves forward to the live show. Hannah is sitting with Chris and Tyler joins them. Basically, Tyler talks to Hannah about the breakup and they both get closure. THEN, Hannah casually asks him out on a date! And the crowd goes wild.
After Tyler, Jed comes out and he clears the air by stating his side of the story. He apologizes and takes in all of his mistakes and faults. Hannah confirms they are not together anymore.
