Mindset of Leadership #3

 How do I do that?

Yesterday I wrote that you learn to be a good leader by leading, that effective leadership is not taught, it’s learned! Although sitting in a classroom or reading a book can help, you become a great leader by leading. By making mistakes, or making correct choices and learning from them; grabbing hold of and taking possession of that! You ARE a leader.

So how do you step confidently into the power of your leadership?

By being yourself!

95% of who you are is not special or out of the ordinary. But 5% is uniquely YOU. Your skills, talents, knowledge, and life experiences all meld together to make that 5% special.

Just as important as these attributes, is your passion for what you do! That’s your brand, your individual brand. The one that makes you unique.

If you haven’t identified it yet, find your uniqueness and define it; then put a finer point to it. Make a list of what you stand for. Have integrity, be on the front end of your daily agenda.

The same is true for your life! Have the integrity and diligence to stay on the cutting edge, the forefront of your life. Work it, improve it and your future will follow the effort of your present.

Too many of us allow past experiences to dictate future behavior. Give yourself a fresh start every day by remaining upbeat and positive. Give every day a chance to be your best yet!

Remember you are who you say you are, not what anyone else may think or say. That’s the way we walk tall, stand strong, and deliver the goods. Now go do it!
