There is a harbor within the east and a hill with a former castle. The old city lies on the foot of Capitol Hill and an extended beach with the famous Promenade des Anglais follows the seashore all the way from the old town to the airport. you'll see the walking-route on the map. The route brings you to the old town, beach, Promenade des Anglais and therefore the new city quarters behind it.
This is a neighborhood where you'll easily spend an entire day. We started our trip within the harbor.

The Harbor (Le Port)
Nice harbor (Le Port) is pretty. there's a reasonably row of buildings in several colors during a mountain setting.
If some time allows, spend a while strolling in Le Port. within the morning the harbor is within the shade but within the evening when the sun shines from the west the harbor looks beautiful! The Old Harbor may be a popular restaurant area so a night within the harbor could be an honest idea.
Hill Views
From the harbor you'll climb to Capitol Hill Colline du Chateau for nice views of the town . you'll either take stairs up from the Quai Rauba Capeu side (seaside) or from the opposite side. Despite of the name there’s no castle on Capitol Hill , the castle was destroyed in 1706. Instead there's a park.
