There is no doubt that your cat can be picky in eating, you will get the idea as soon as you put the feed in the bowl. The behavior of the cat lets you know the like and dislike in regard with the food. As Julie Churchill, who is an associate professor of nutrition in veterinary stated that cats are choosy when it comes to food, they are opinionated about the meals you give them.  

It is also said that their food preferences are develop within a year which means you should develop these habits related to food when your cat is a kitten. So, if you have a kitten then it will become a cat one day so you should start developing the eating habits, you can try different types of food that are available such as wet, dry and semi dry.

Even if you have a grown-up cat, there are various ways of making sure that the cat is provided with enough nutrients via food, as the concern is to keep the cat healthy. The initial step is to start learning about the food preferences of the cat and its need.

The food that should not be fed to a cat:

Here is the list of the foods that you should not feed to your cat, it might not include all the possible foods but the common ones that people try to make the cat eat. You should remember that whatever you are putting in the bowl is going to directly affect the health of your cats.

The food to be avoided are as follows:

1.       Chocolate:

It is very common that owners whenever are eating the chocolate, they offer it to their cats and kittens and obviously they would lick and eat it but you should know that it is not good for a cat’s health.

2.      Fruits:

In fruits we would include the grapes and the dry fruits such as raisins and sultanas. But the nuts should be avoided as well because they are in no way goof for the health of a cat. Avocados and tomatoes should be added to this list as well.

3.      Products with caffeine in it:

It is a fact that caffeine is not only existent in the coffee or tea but there are other products that have caffeine in them such as chocolate. The other examples are cocoa, cola and other stimulant drinks.

4.      Milk and dairy products:

It might not be accepted by most of the cat owners but it is actually difficult for the cats to digest the dairy products such as milk. Especially the kittens should not be fed with the chemical processed milk as a replacement of its mother milk before they cannot digest it properly. In other words, there are many cats that are lactose intolerant which means that you should not give the bowl of milk to your kittens.
