You are officially 4 months pregnant at 16 weeks!
Your second trimester is a time when your baby's growth rate accelerates. You might also notice changes in your body.
Rapid growth
Your uterus grows at the same rate as your baby's at 16 weeks. That is pretty fast! It's reaching the point that you might not be able hide your pregnancy any longer.
You are likely still enjoying the relative joy of trimester 2, especially when compared to trimester 1. In a few weeks, you will be able see more of your baby at an ultrasound.

Your 16-weeks pregnant belly
At 16 weeks of pregnancy, your baby is clearly in there. You'll continue to gain weight, as well as your baby's. All baby bumps at 16 weeks of pregnancy are normal, but they're all different. Some women don't show bumps at 16 weeks, others do.
There are many factors that can explain the wide range of baby bumps, including the size and shape of the mother and whether it is her first or second pregnancy.
Don't try to compare your 16-weeks pregnant belly with anyone else. It's all okay! Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or are still worried.
Gaining weight during pregnancy
It can be difficult to see yourself gain weight while pregnant. Even if you know it's for a great reason, try to embrace your new body and consider every pound gained a sign that you are in good health for your baby.
You'll be fine as long as you eat well during pregnancy and minimize junk food. Every woman's weight changes during pregnancy at her own pace.
You can show your body love by buying a garment or accessory that flatters your new shape. Also, make sure to get underwear that fits.
Tips
When you exercise, eat healthy calories
For every half-hour of intense exercise that you perform during pregnancy, you can eat 100 to 200 more calories.
However, you can choose to eat nutritious foods without sacrificing the results of your hard work.
You should not reach for that chocolate bar that you are about to grab. The energy bars are probably not much better. You can opt for a smoothie, a granola yogurt parfait, apple slices with peanut butter or whole grain crackers, or even cheese.
