the right location is crucial. While finding one that’s close to your home

factors that must come into play. But some states set out an outline for the
levels of care that assisted living facilities are allowed to provide. If the

you pick a living facility, take the time to check the amenities they offer. Some
communities have a barbershop or salon while others have a fitness center. Be

bistros and coffee shops, from libraries to computer or technology rooms,

What
kind of reputation does the facility have? You’ll want to check that, too. Look
for feedback from other clients. What do they say? Are there a lot of positive
reviews? Or are there too many complaints? What do the complaints involve? Are
they reasonable? Do they sound fair? If there are a lot of reviews from
different clients that point out the same problems, then there are recurring
issues with the facility—whether it involves their service levels or the way
they deal with patients or patients’ families and more. That could be a huge
red flag. You’ll want to take those warnings into account and consider your
other options.
Experience
What
kind of credentials and qualifications do the staff have? What about the
facility itself? Has it been recognized by any of the organizations recognized
in the living assisted community? How long has it been since the facility has
started? A facility that's been around for years and one with a team with
seasoned staff members might be much more suited to provide your family with
the services and help that your elderly loved ones need. Keep this in mind when
you start looking for assisted living communities and apartments.
