Lenovo Legion Slim 7: The 4 Pound Gaming Laptop That’s No Lightweight

Looking for a gaming laptop weighing less than a weapon tank? The Lenovo Legion Slim 7 looks like a very powerful competitor. The 15inch laptop weighs only 4.1 kilograms (1.86kg), but does not compromise on things that will delight gamers.

Lenovo jumps on the latest list of AMD Ryzen mobile processors, who have been working hard on their Intel similarity to the latest benchmarks. The Slim 7 can be customized up to an AMD Ryzen 9 4900H processor, which can be up to 4.4GHz.

The efficient processor is paired with Nvidia graphics, and the laptop can be configured with the GeForce GTX 1650 Ti, GTX 1660 Ti or RTX 2060.

Various options are on the memory and storage table, specs from 32GB of RAM and 2TB storage of M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD. You can expect to pay a good premium if you extend the 2TB SSD, anyway.

There is no shortage of display options, though, with the option of setting up a 4K panel (3,840 x 2,160) that supports a refresh rate of 60Hz. Gamers are more likely to be influenced by the Full HD dash panel option (1,920 x 1,080) with a revival rate of 144Hz and a response time of 3ms, although not as bright as the 4K option.

Battery life is always a back-to-back concept on a portable gaming laptop that may be chemically bound, but a 71Whr battery promises up to eight hours of operating time on a spec sheet, though you may not be close to that when playing games. Rapid Charge Pro returns the battery back to 50% in less than half an hour, if you choose 170W or 230W chargers.

Wi-Fi 6 support is included, such as Bluetooth 5.1, 4-in-1 SD card reader and instant access fingerprint reader. Lenovo is famous for making beautiful keyboards, and the illuminated model here features a number pad on the right side, as well as a freely matched trackpad.

The laptop has a style underneath it, too, perhaps appealing to the type of player turned off by lighting up strings and rainbow-colored keyboards.

Prices start at $ 1,370 when the laptop goes on sale later this month, though you can expect to pay much more than that if you close the processor, graphics and storage available.
