Mistakes You Make When Trying to Lose Weight

1. Focusing on carbs instead of Calories.

One of the most common things I hear is that carbs are what make you fat and overweight. So to lose weight, people start to eliminate any source of carbs from their diet. Carbs aren’t the reason why you aren’t losing weight. Eating too many calories is the reason why. Yes, it’s easier to eat more calories through carbs, but the main calories come from the processed sugars that most desserts contain.

2. Focusing on Restriction instead of Restraint

When limiting the amount of higher calorie food or “unhealthy” foods, don’t think of it as you are restricting yourself from being able to have them. By doing that, you will start to have a negative relationship with food and begin to resent that food. Instead, view it as you have stronger restraint by not deterring away from your desired goals.

3.Focusing on Perfection instead of Progress

Everyone has a desired goal when they are trying to lose weight. Whether it’s losing 10 pounds or getting a bigger butt. We all have something; however, in most cases, we get the goal by comparing ourselves to someone that looks the way you want to look like. You see them as the “perfect” body or your dream. Do not focus on trying to be “perfect” like them or whatever idea is in your imagination. There is no such thing as perfection, instead, take joy in the small steps you are able to make to get you to your goal.
