Versa Delivers Multiple Functions to Software Defined Affiliates - Sdn - 2019

Websites are ideal for simplifying and cheaper networking. There is often little or no IT expertise there, and it is more difficult to justify the costs because only a fraction of the company's business happens at a branch.

Yet the rise of software-defined WANs and affiliates, designed to reduce the cost and complexity of long-range networks, has left some parts of the problem unresolved, according to the launch of SD-WAN Versa Netvorks.

Versa sells software and certifies standard "vhite hi" hardware from other companies to pack it into systems they build. The new features allow customers to run different networking applications on a single box at each branch, said Mark Veiner, Versa, chief marketing officer.

The company offered a number of branch networking features when it was founded in 2012, but sold them to central management and scheduling service providers either on client space or cloud equipment. The new tools are enterprise-grade but can also work in the cloud or in a hybrid configuration.
