Photochromic Pigments Powder | Photochromic Colours – Americos

Photochromic pigment is a specialty designed powder to change color when exposed to a UV light source, but reacts best to direct sunlight. White or colorless when not exposed to sunlight.

All of our photochromic pigments are encapsulated meaning they can be used to make photochromic paint, resin, epoxy, inks, water based mediums, plastic, gels, acrylic and much more without becoming damaged or drying out the medium. Can appear transparent in a clear medium with a lower powder mixing ratio. Use photochromic pigments for a variety of applications! Screen prints an invisible design onto a shirt that can only be seen on a bright sunny day! Mix yellow photochromic pigment with blue tinted paint to create a light blue paint that turns green when exposed to sunlight! Color combinations like these are endless with photochromic pigment!

Photochromic Pigments are photochromic microcapsules in a powder pigment form. They are specifically designed for use in non-aqueous based ink systems, although their use is not limited to this. They can be used to formulate non aqueous based Flexographic, UV, Screen, Offset, Epoxy, and Gravure ink formulations (for aqueous applications we would recommend using a photochromic slurry). Photochromic powders are colorless in their inactivated state and become color when exposed to an ultraviolet light source. We are providing Photochromic Pigments. The offered photochromic pigments are absorbing energy and change color in the presence of ultraviolet. Our quality controllers, check these photochromic pigments on numerous defined parameters. The offered photochromic pigments are suitable to be printed on various kinds of materials.

Thermochromism is the property of substances to change color due to a change in temperature. A mood ring is an excellent example of this phenomenon, but thermochromism also has more practical uses, such as baby bottles, which change to a different color when cool enough to drink, or kettles which change when water is at or near boiling point. Thermochromism is one of several types of chromium.

Color-changing pigments are a fascinating novelty, but they tend to be less useful for clothing than other colorants, due to a limited lifespan when subjected to repeated laundering. Our thermochromic pigment change from a color to clear or from one color to another when heat is applied.  Great for slime and science experiments!
