Life can be full of chaos and unpredictabilities, but there are ways we can help bring some order to that chaos. It's as simple as becoming more organized. I know, I know. Yawn, so boring. Who wants to waste energy and time on organizing things? Well, almost no one. But I can promise you it will make your life incredibly easier by focusing a little more on the little things.
What's the first thing you can do to organize your life? Have a planner that you find fun to write in and have all of your daily to-dos written down. I'm not just talking about the dentist appointment you have at 9:00 am on Tuesday, I'm also referring to writing down when you need to go to the grocery store, the time you need to pick your kid up from school, or even a written down "me time" you have set in place. It's in your planner so it's official! No missing out on that much needed time to yourself. By writing down everything that you need to do and placing each activity on a specific day (and ideally at a specific time) you won't have to worry about getting everything done or wondering HOW you'll get everything done. It's all right there laid out for you. This should only take about 30 minutes of one day to plan out the next week or two. Yeah, you might need to make some changes, but overall you'll feel much more calm and in control.
Another thing you could do to help you become more organized is to constantly throw out/give away things you no longer use or need. When your living space, refrigerator, closet, workspace, car, etc. is cluttered, your life automatically feels cluttered as well! This can cause you to feel more overwhelmed than you need to be. Yeah, you will need to take the time to clear everything out, but then just maintain that level of cleanliness. Having a clear area around you will help clear your mind as well. Let alone it will help you remember where you put your keys just 5 minutes ago. Long story short; declutter, people.
These are the two main ways to be physically more organized in your day-to-day life. I also recommend not scheduling too much for yourself or putting too much on your plate. There's no way to completely plan or control our lives, but there are these little things we can do to help feel little more stable.
