Sharing Information Online

Without a doubt technology is still in its adolescence age and seeing how it grows and how that effects social behaviors will be interesting. Given that many people today are maintaining several weak ties and not creating a few strong ones, there will be a widespread utilization of more peoples’ abilities and strengths. This can help businesses and consumers alike.

However, there is less privacy for individuals on social media since most of what is on social media can be made public. Consumers will become more private online as they realize their reputation will follow them everywhere, including job interviews, dates, school, etc. As technology develops and social behaviors are change too, consumers will become more aware of their unprotected status online and do more to protect themselves. From the primary research conducted and societal technological advancements, consumers will be more cautious with what they post and share on social media to protect their reputation. Even though there may be less privacy for consumers with the adolescent stage that the internet is in, it allows a farther reach for individual to use their skills. This is why consumers shouldn’t be afraid of the loss of privacy and instead embrace it. After it is embraced, consumers will learn how to be appropriate with what is shared on social media and how it is done. One shouldn’t stray away from using social media because of the fear of what may happen.

The internet is still young and will progress a lot further with technological advancements, so people should be embracing the opportunities created by it. There should be more regulations and oversight so that consumers are less worried about their information being sold to third-parties without their knowledge. Most consumers are worried about their privacy online and do not realize how their information is being used by the sites they employ, so enforcement of these regulations would have to be closely monitored to protect consumers. Consumers will have to be more aware of what they are posting on social media and the potential audience. Social media allows those from far places to communicate, share ideas, and give assistance to more people than ever before. Technology and social behaviors will develop a change in the way that we think of privacy and the way we interact with social media
