Jet Blue Founder Starting Rival Airline

JetBlue founder David Neeleman is reportedly starting another low-cost airline called Moxy to try to chip away at larger carriers’ market share. According to industry journal Airline Weekly, based on a presentation seen by their reporter, Neeleman is seeking $100 million in funding for the airline, which will use Bombardier CS300 to service smaller airports around the country. Moxy could be airborne by 2020, according to the report. CNBC notes that after recent consolidation, only four carriers now control about three-quarters of the U.S. market.
