Vietnamese Countryside

I’ve written in a former blog regarding my grandpa, how much I love the Vietnamese countryside. Yet most first-time travelers to Vietnam start by visiting famous cities like Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) or Hanoi. If you are planning a trip to Vietnam, do yourself a favour and include some time in the country in your visit.

Vietnam is made up mostly of small, agricultural communities. Getting out to see the beautiful countryside may be more difficult, but it is well worth the time and effort to get there. Make sure you spend at least some of your trip in a traditional Vietnamese village. The cities may be exciting, but it’s the small villages that provide relaxation and give visitors a true sense of Vietnamese culture.

Who knows, you might even happen by my grandpa’s old farm.
