Were you one of the many individuals who went out this weekend to see the release of Toy Story 4? The long awaited and anticipated fourth sequel release of Disney and Pixar's movie series entitled Toy Story, was all the hype as a must-see summer movie. It has been approximately nine years since Toy Story 3 has been released, so loyal Toy Story fans have been waiting to see what new journey Woody, Buzz and friends go on with Bonnie since Andy went off to college. But did the movie perform as well as it was projected to on its opening weekend?

Toy Story 4, produced $118 million opening weekend alone in Northern America. Parent company Disney, projected that the movie would produce approximately $140 million on opening weekend. The amount was below expectation but still produced enough to give Disney, all of the top four domestic opening weekends of 2019.

The budget for the movie was approximately $200 million dollars, so the movie was almost able to make back almost three-quarters of the budget in the opening weekend alone in Northern America. Box office total revenue, since the movie has been released, has made $258.7 million, leaving the company in the black for movie production. As time goes by, and more individuals go out to see this movie, the gross amount Disney and Pixar will make off of it will continue to grow. The series is a classic one, with many now adults, who grew up with the original one, are curious to see how this franchise continues.
