This year's Concours D'Elegance is supposed to be incredible. I have never been before but I am extremely excited to finally go. The date of the event is Sunday August 18 from 10:30 am - 5:00 pm. Even though the main event is only one day, the entire week from Monday August 12 through that Sunday will have all sorts of events happening. On Tuesday there is a car show that takes place by the sea where cars will be parked and bystanders can check them out. Wednesday has ten different events that people can attend. There is the Pebble Beach Auction, The Little Car Show, and Carmel Mission Classic, just to list a few. The bigger events begin happening more towards the weekend.
You won't be missing out even if you can't go the entire week. The hotels are extremely expensive during this week due to the event so, like myself, I will only be going for 2 days. If you book last minute you can end up paying upwards of $1,000 a night for a 3 star hotel. I'm hoping it will be worth the cost though given the amazing views, cars, food, events, and people that will be there. Another great thing about these events is that dogs are welcome! So, bring your pets and have fun in the town with everyone observing amazing cars! I will be writing a blog after I come back to share what the event was really like.
