A reply from my old friend, a little puzzled by the laws that we live under. He was 18 in 1968, not old enough to purchase beer. He was drafted into the military, handed an M-16 and other various weapons at 18, became a drunk on base with the rest of the guys at 18, involved in intense combat for a year at 19, came home a drunk, not able to purchase a beer, all courtesy of Uncle Sam. This still happens to this day, different kids, different war, same laws. It is not the gun, it is a crazy world.
