Colour profiles ensure a consistent and predictable print result on different types of paper. All you need to do is install the latest ICC profile variations and embed them in your artwork. In 2015, several colour profile standards were revised and published by the International Color Consortium (ICC). These days, the use of ICC profiles is commonplace at the graphics arts business and we at Onlineprinters also use them to create higher quality prints. Content:Why colour profiles? Each device has its own individual color space that it can display. That is the reason why images seem different on a monitor, poster or in a booklet. If it comes to printing, paper sorts are challenging due to their distinct design and feel. The identical print ink and artwork may look totally different depending on the newspaper stock. Colour profiles aim to create predictable and consistent colour results on various devices by accounting for the features of paper forms and printing methods. To achieve this, the International Color Consortium (ICC) develops colour profiles for various media. The ICC profiles may be downloaded for free (more on this later).
They are compatible with Windows, Mac OS and some other standard operating system. However, ICC profiles are typically not installed on your own computer by default so you have to do so manually. Additionally, you have to re create the ICC profiles into your design program. We'll explain how to do that later in this report. ICC profiles are continuously developed further. The color profiles applicable for printing shops (PSO coated & uncoated) have been available in an upgraded version since 2015. The most recent variant 3 of the typical promises even better colour reproduction, particularly on natural papers. But the 1 printing standard also defines new demands for measurement technology, regular illumination and evidence papers. To print on coated papers such as art paper, Onlineprinters requires the PSO coated v3 profile. For uncoated paper shares like counter and natural newspapers, we employ the PSO uncoated v3 profile.
