Another pro is you don't have to deal with the hassle of booking tickets, checking schedules, getting a visa and so on. Also, you don't need to deal with the hassle of travelling at peak times which can be very exhausting. However, there are some cons associated with staycation holidays as well. For example, you are not able to explore new places or you have to accept the fact that the food joints, hotels, theme parks, restaurants and so on may be places you have already visited.

If you're interested in planning a staycation vacation, the first step is to make sure that you have a good book or a good travel guide that outlines where you can find all of the best holiday destinations your home-town area has to offer.

The best way to go on a vacation while still having your work-life balance is to create your own staycation itinerary. For example, you can create a detailed blog (still free online) where you document your entire staycation experience. You can also take pictures or snap photos of your locales and post them on social media sites like Facebook and Twitter. And you can also update your blog with your latest travel destination and activities. All of these actions create a documented trail that will remind you of your staycation adventure, and will give you a chance to look back on your staycation and laugh at all of the crazy things you did while on vacation!
Even though staycations are significantly less expensive than a traditional vacation you still need some planning and saving to enjoy a fun-filled staycation. Some ways to save money for your vacation are: conserving energy in your home for a lower Central Hudson electricity bill, limit you eating out for a few months before your holiday, and save that money in a segregated account, and my favorite, every day put all of the change from my pocket that is smaller than a $10 bill into a special jar for your next adventure.
