There's a Mystery Disease Killing Dogs in Norway.

At least 25 dogs have died so far and 10 more were reported ill this past weekend. Four of those ten dogs have since died. Most of the cases were reported in the capital, but have also been reported in 14 of 18 counties. One dog in Sweden was reported ill after attending a dog show in Oslo; all dog shows have since been canceled as a precaution. A spokesman for the Food Safety Authority said that the disease is "very serious for dogs, but we don't know whether this is contagious, or just s series of individual cases." Jorun Jarp, the Emergency and Safety director of the Norwegian Veterinary Institute, said "I haven't been involved in anything like it before." The institue has ruled out salmonella and rat poison, and does not believe that it is caused by something in the dogs' food. So far, the dogs have been from all different regions of the country and have been eating and drinking from different sources.

Hopefully this can be resolved before more dogs get sick.
