America Needs More truckers

Trucking companies are having a difficult time finding new drivers, even after hiking pay and offering bonuses, according to The Washington Post. The industry has over 60,000 open positions — and that’s expected to double in coming years. With trucks transporting nearly every item sold in the U.S., this shortage has “special power to affect the entire economy”: Wage hikes mean higher transportation costs, which could have a ripple effect on businesses across the nation.
