LG WING REVIEW

Introduction

One distinct feature of LG gadgets over the past years is the incredible designs they adorn their smartphone. Travel back to time and try to relate this. From the Q series (Q92, Q31, etc.) to Velvet 5G down to Stylo 6 and so on, you would agree that it is worthy of calling LG a beast when it comes to design.

Currently, LG has the most stunning smartphone in 2020 and that says a lot. Looking at the varieties of smartphones they have released this year, it is worthy of saying they are above other brands in this competition- If there is any.

Evident to this is the LG Wing’s smartphone, which hit the market this year. Not that this is the first time they would be releasing a two-screen phone, but the swiveling display that accompanies the phone is jaw dropping. Yes- it is incredible.

REVIEW OF THE SMARTPHONE

Inspired by dual-screen smartphones from other makers, the LG wing smartphone features two-paneled Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) panels. The first panel is a normal 6 by 8 inches’ main screen that’s free of bezels and notches. Instead, it has a pop-up lens since the phone is devoid of ample moving parts.

The second panel features a 3.9-inch panel lying below the phone’s main display, giving it an exclusive look. Unlike other dual-screen phones, it does not require folding to access its full size or one of its flexible side, the wing’s main display twists around and upwards, to reveal a second screen.

Like every other smartphone in their swivel mode, the main display can serve your primary purpose and the second display can serve as a supplementary window for extended functions. One other amazing feature of this phone is its in-built Gimbal mode. This gimbal mode allows the secondary display to be used as a grip with a complete joystick control for adjusting the camera.

To prevent interference, the phone is equipped with “hexa-motion” sensor while shooting. It can shoot in its dual record mode, capturing images through its front and rear cameras simultaneously. For better functionality, it is equipped with double ultra wide camera, with the back camera capturing images with the main display still in its swiveled landscape mode.

Its RAM is a whooping 8GB with 256GB of storage. It has an in-display fingerprint sensor and supports wireless charging. It weighs around 9.17ounces and is about 0.43 inches thick, so there is no need to worry about its portability. Lastly, it features a 32-megapixel front camera with a triple-camera set up at the back.

Downside

One downside of this phone is it coming with a 4000mAh battery at 2020. I mean we should be talking about 5000, 6000, 7000mAh already. Aside from that, it features a Snapdragon 765G processor with Qualcomm’s integrated X52 modem, which makes it suitable for a 5G network. Also, not having a waterproof support is odd for a smartphone of its caliber.

Though not the best smartphone, the LG wing is still in the league of the best smartphones available in the market.
