Delray Beach,
Florida, is a wonderful place to live, with beautiful coastal scenery and a fun
and welcoming community. And if there’s ever a desire to visit the famous
Disney World, it’s good to know that it’s not too far away. Delray Beach is
about 170 miles southeast of Orlando, where Disney World is located. This means
that with a bit of planning, a trip to Disney can be a fun weekend vacation or
even a spontaneous day trip if you’re up for a longer drive. The drive
typically takes about three hours, depending on traffic, making it a doable
distance for those who want to experience the magic of Disney without having to
live in the chaos that is Orlando.
Disney World itself
is a massive complex with four main theme parks, Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s
Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Each park offers something
different than any of the others, from classic Disney characters and rides in
Magic Kingdom to the different cultures and futuristic attractions in Epcot. In
addition to Disney World, there are other fantastic theme parks in the Orlando
area.
Universal Orlando
Resort is a major destination, offering two more theme parks, Universal Studios
Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure. These parks are known for their
thrilling rides and attractions based on popular movies and TV shows, like
Harry Potter, Jurassic Park, and Transformers. Universal is about the same
distance from Delray Beach as Disney World, so it’s easy to plan a trip that
includes both destinations if desired.
SeaWorld Orlando is
another theme park option not far from Delray. SeaWorld is perfect for those
who love marine life and aquatic shows. SeaWorld has its own fun rides, but it
also has educational exhibits and live shows featuring dolphins, whales, and other sea creatures. It’s a great
place for families and anyone interested in learning more about the ocean. Like
the other theme parks, SeaWorld is also located in Orlando, making it part of
the larger theme park experience available just a few hours from Delray Beach.
If you prefer
something closer to home, Rapids Water Park in West Palm Beach is just about a
30-minute drive from Delray Beach. This water park is perfect for those hot
Florida days since it has numerous water slides, a lazy river, and a wave pool.
You can still have fun in a theme-park-like atmosphere without having to travel
all the way to Orlando.
In summary, while
Delray Beach is not super close to Disney World, it is close enough to it and
many other theme parks that you can still have an incredible weekend at Disney
or any of the other nearby theme parks. Whether it’s spending the day at Disney
World, seeing the thrills at Universal Orlando, or appreciating the marine life
at SeaWorld, all these attractions are just a few hours away. Living in large
apartments in Delray Beach allows for the perfect balance between
enjoying these exciting theme parks and returning home to a much more peaceful,
beachside community.
