Flexographic printing, Process and Advantages

Flexographic printing, Process and Advantages

Flexography:

Digital flexography is a modern version of letterpress. This printing method is used on almost any type of substrate, including plastic, cardboard, fabric, and others. Flexographic printing is used to print on any flexible material.

Hat products can be made with flexographic printing?

If you still don't know very well what flexography is, we are sure that you see many products in any supermarket created with these machines. These are some examples of products created with flexographic printing that we can see in our day to day:

·         Newspapers

·         Boxes for food.

·         Liquid containers.

·         Flexible packaging.

·         Labels on products.

·         Folding cardboard to make boxes.

·         Etc.

Flexographic printing processes:

Prepress:

Happens before printing. Our flexo prepress team will take care of and prepare everything you need to run the press.

Printing:

The department is next to the printer. These professionals will make sure everything works correctly and that the runs turn out just as the prepress colleagues prepared them.

The flexo printing process uses fast-drying semi-liquid inks, which is great for long runs and large orders because it stays firm in its areas. We can see this in packaging and labeling products.

Flexible photopolymer printing plates are used in the press that surround the rotating cylinders. These ink plates rotate at a fast speed to transfer the image to the content that we want to flexograph. In addition, with the advantages of flexography, we can print on absorbent and non-absorbent materials.

The difference from other prints like OFFSET is that the rolls used in flexo allow for long order runs with very few interruptions to reload the substrate.

Advantages of digital flexography:

·         Ideal for large orders.

·         Consumables are lower in cost.

·         It allows printing on different types of materials.

·         The working speed is quite fast.

·         With flexo, we can control printing, punching and laminating in a single pass.

That is why at Flexomed we use the flexographic printer to be able to carry out jobs with a high quality in the finish to satisfy the needs of our clients and end users.
