The Tree is endemic to Hawaii, found only here on this planet. How special is that. It is one of the first plants to grow out of a lava flow. We also get some of the best honey, from our bees, when the flower is in bloom. The wood from the tree is really hard and strong. We have it holding up our house and some beautiful furniture we made. This is all very special to Hawaii and its people. Sorry to say, we have a "Black Death" that is killing off our trees. Life marches on.......aloha
