Bail Bonds - 3 Reasons For Bailing Out of Jail

You've just learned that a loved one has been arrested and booked into the nearby county jail. Now it's time to decide whether to bail them out or let them stay in jail until the arraignment date. You might find some compelling reasons for not bailing them out at this time (You can't afford bail), but these three reasons strengthen the case for using a bail bondsman to bail them out ASAP.

Reason #1 - So they won't lose their job.

Most defendants need to get back to their occupation the next day. Paying a bail bondsman and/or retaining a criminal defense attorney can take a huge chunk out of the family treasure chest. Not to mention the arrest and booking process which lasts on average 10 hours or more. It's important not to miss a day of work and to continue to financially support the family. Also, they shouldn't discuss their weekend vacation in county jail around the lunch water cooler. In most instances, they won't need to disclose the arrest to their employer until after they've been convicted and/or plead to a lesser crime. This could take several months for the attorneys on both sides to hammer out the best deal. During this time, they need to be gainfully employed.

Reason #2 - Because jails are the dirtiest places on earth.

Historically, the bail bondsman will use this trick as leverage to scare you into bailing out your friend or family member. However, with the recent swine flu epidemic, this wasn't a scheme. I remember many restrictions on defendant visitation rights because the flu was everywhere. Besides sickness, most jails keep the temperature cold around 60 degrees to ward off any disease spreading by humidity or hot, muggy conditions. I remember waiting to give a defendant a ride home after posting his bail bond. I figured if he paid me $4000 to bail out, I should give him a free ride home because he was stranded (this is unheard of in the bail bond industry). As he was released into the lobby, he started jumping up and down like he was cheering at a football game.

Reason #3 - To protect them from more dangerous criminals and prisoners.

Being a career criminal is a full-time job for scores of people in the community. Many should never use a bail bondsman be bailed out even if they have the money and/or collateral. They commit violent crimes and are a danger to society both in and out of jail. Most have been arrested several times and can't afford to bail out of jail. They especially aren't happy while sobering up behind bars coming down from their latest high. If it's your first time being arrested and booked as a defendant, these are not the friends to want to meet in a cold dark jail cell.

Most people are not doing crime intentionally. Even when I was a kid, I had so much fault and none of those were intentional. My mother and other people are allowed to understand this. But what will happen if I will be doing all those publically. The law will never go to understand that I did the thing intentionally or not. They will be looking for me to do the thing and I am a criminal right now. And this is the most common thinking of Orleans Parish Prison. This is the reason their people in the USA were determined about the thing they will make a correctional center for the people who have to do all the things without intention. It will help the prisoner to get more punishment and they will never become involved with other crime-related activities after becoming free. Then again there is no alternative to public counseling.
