Ingredients for Bihari Kadhi with Pakora



For Kadhi Pakora



Gram flour (besan) 1 cup
Fenugreek seeds (methi)  1/3 teaspoon
Carom seeds (ajwain) 3/4 teaspoon
Onion finely chopped 1/2 teaspoon
Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon
Salt to taste
Red chili powder 1/2 teaspoon
Oil for deep-frying

For kadhi


Yogurt sour 2 cups thick
Gram flour (besan) 4 tablespoons
Ginger-garlic-green chili paste 1 tablespoon
Red chili powder 1/2 tablespoons
Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon
Salt to taste            
Oil 2 tablespoons
Cloves 5-6
Black pepper 1/4 teaspoon
Mustard seeds 1/4 teaspoon
Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon
Fenugreek seeds (methi dana) 1/2 teaspoon
Kadi leaves (10-15 leaves)
Asafoetida a pinch
Dried red chilies have broken 4-5


METHOD TO PREPARE BIHARI KADHI RECIPE



STEP 1

To make pakoras, combine fenugreek leaves, carom seeds, onion, gram flour, turmeric powder, salt & red chili powder in a bowl. Mix well using sufficient water to make a soft mixture. Leave it for some time. Again, mix the mixture using a hand beater or spoon to make fuffy pakoda.



STEP 2

Next, heat sufficient oil in a Kadai. Drop small portions of the gram flour mixture into the hot oil and deep-fry till golden. Drain on absorbent paper and set aside.


Steps to prepare (Kadhi)



STEP 3

To make Bihari kadhi recipe, combine gram flour, ginger-garlic-green chili paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt in a bowl. Add 500 ml water and whisk well. Add 500 ml water and whisk nicely.


STEP 4

Heat oil in a deep pan, add mustard seeds, pepper, cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds, kadi leaves a pinch of turmeric and coriander powder, and sauté for a minute. Meanwhile, take a bowl & add curd, water, and salt to make a liquid mixture by continuously beating it.


STEP 5

Add asafoetida, chopped garlic, and red chilies mix and sauté.


STEP 6

Add a mixture of liquid gram flour with different spices and sauté continuously.


STEP 7

Add the beaten curd mixture into the liquid gram flour after 1-2 minutes.


STEP 8

Cover the pan with its lid and make it to cook the mixture properly for 10 minutes. Now add the pakodas into bihari kadhi recipe and slow the stove flame to a minimum. Let it cook for 5 minutes more.

STEP 9

Switch off the gas stove and pour the kadhi in a bowl. Serve it hot with rice.
