Godzilla vs. Kong Review

The movie title is pretty self-explanatory: Godzilla vs. Kong delivers an epic fight of the two giant monsters against each other. Filmed by Warner Bros. Entertainment and produced by Adam Wingard, it is the 4th movie in the Hollywood kaiju series about Godzilla that was started with the homonymic film in 2014. What is more, it is the 36th movie in the Godzilla franchise, and the 12th one in the King Kong franchise.

2021’s kaiju movie with a touch of action-thriller is basically a modern take on a Japanese original film titled King Kong vs. Godzilla (1962). It stars Alexander Skarsgard, Shun Oguri, Julian Dennison, Millie Bobby Brown, Brian Tyree Henry, Eiza Gonzalez, Rebecca Hall, and other talented actresses and actors. The American version tells the story of Kong fighting with Godzilla as humans drag the giant anthropoid into the Hollow Earth to obtain a source of power for their weapon to stop Godzilla once and for all. The description of the movie on various cinema-related websites sounds as follows:

Humanity is to blame for the fact that Godzilla and King Kong are forced to lock horns in an unequal combat. Monarch organization, tracking the life of kaiju monsters on earth, sends an expedition to the uncharted lands of Skull Island, where scientists hope to reveal the secret of the origin of the legendary monsters. But apart from Monarch, there are other people who are planning to destroy all the kaijus.

Not to reveal the whole story, we would say just one thing: this movie is full of spine-breaking fights, building-crashing moments and computer effects with high quality graphics.

Reception

As for critical response, 2021’s Godzilla vs. Kong seems to receive generally positive ratings. The average score from film critics is almost 7 points out of 10. On top of this, more than 70% of cinema experts comment the film in a positive way. And above 80% of the audience said they would 100% recommend the movie to their friends.

However, it is interesting to note that most people who have watched Godzilla vs. Kong state they doubt that they would watch the movie again.

Final Thoughts

So, is Godzilla vs. Kong particularly introspective? Does the movie promote the idea of great importance? No, not exactly. Does it need to be deep or thought-provoking? Of course, no. But is it entertaining and worth your time? Yes, definitely. This film is specially created for a weekend film show. Looking for free movies to watch? Please check https://kinotochka.co
