Sometimes, the best trips are the shortest ones. One of the trips which are great to explore in less time is Triund trek. Nestled in the mighty Dhauladhars at a height of 2,850m above sea level. Triund is a paradise for backpackers, solo travelers, and a great place to visit with friends. Himachal Pradesh holds a lot of hidden gems of beauty, Triund is one of them. We can also call it the crown jewel of Dharamshala.
I decided to embark on this amazing adventure in post-monsoon season i.e. in the months of October. As a traveler, I like exploring easy to tough trekking trails. Being a short trek of 2 days, it was very easy to plan a trip to Triund. It was another weekend which I was not spending at home. The best part is you have to only pack for 2 days, all the basic stuff. Now, one of the important things to keep in mind, how will you undertake this trek? Well, the answer is so very easy, book your tour package with a certified tour operator and tell them all your needs. Pay them, then get ready with your backpack and ready for the adventure. Easy!!
I took an overnight bus from Delhi to Dharamshala. And reached Dharamshala early in the morning. I met the trek leader and other trek members. One thing I was sure about that I will make a lot of memories and friends on this trek.
The trek started from Mcleodganj, a picturesque and amazing hill station. We all were driven to Galu Devi Temple, the starting point of the trek. The total Triund trek distance is 9 km from Mcleodganj. There was also another route for this trek that starts from Shiva cafe and Bhagsu Nag waterfalls which is considered as a tough one.
