"You're Breathtaking!"
This was the quote that made Keanu even more loved by his community fanbase at the most recent Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in 2019. So what makes Keanu Reeves so loved and respected by the community?
For one, Reeves has had a very unfortunate upbringing. His father was imprisoned for selling heroin in his hometown, Hawaii. On top of this, his father also divorced his biological mother. After the separation, Keanu and his mother moved to Australia and then New York where her mother married someone else. There would be a number of subsequent divorces and separations which forced Keanu to bounce from house to house and school to school. He had attended 4 high schools by the time he graduated.
One way Keanu coped with the stress of moving from school to school was through acting. He started acting at the age of 15 and did not have a breakthrough in his career until the film Matrix (1999). I'm sure most of you are familiar with the success and reputation of the movie. His work eventually paid off in 2005, when he was awarded a star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Keanu has continued to bring success to his movies from the John Wick series where he plays an ex-hired assassin, trying to run and fight back the organization he once worked for.
Aside from action movies, Reeves has also shown his versatility in other areas of entertainment. For example, he has recently acted in Toy Story 4 and has a character model of himself in a future upcoming game: Cyberpunk 2077. Even with all the success and money he has garnered from this projects, Keanu is known for donating most of his earnings to charity. With his melancholic past, it is no surprise why Keanu desires to support people in need. To get a glimpse of his charity work, Reeves was reported to give $80 million of his $114 million to charity.
