We’ve got tickets to see ‘An American in Paris’ live onstage this week. What started as a marvelous composition by George Gershwin in 1928 and continued with the motion picture in 1950, inspired a new generation of artists. Critics and audiences say it’s a hit!
In 2015, ‘An American in Paris’ was named BEST MUSICAL of the year by both the Drama League and the Outer Critics Circle, and received four Tony Awards.
The musical was inspired by the Academy Award-winning film and features the music of George and Ira Gershwin. It comprises a combination of classic music, a timeless story, beautiful dance and state-of-the-art design. The New York Times praised it, people who have seen it say it’s amazing, and I can’t wait to see it for myself.
Stay tuned. I’ll let you know next weekend how I felt seeing it!
