Girl group pop sensations, BlackPink, had a long history and they also went through many member changes. Originally, YG Entertainment released a video of two trainees: Euna Kim and Eunbi Kim. The company stated that there will be at least 7 members in the group, however Euna Kim and Eunbi Kim did not make the final cut. On April 10, 2011, a new member was released to the public and her name is Jennie Kim. Jennie continued to become one of YG Entertainment's most notable trainee and have appeared in label-mate G Dragon's hit song "That XX." Shortly after Jennie was made known the the public, Lisa Manoban appeared in YG Entertainment's promotion for the group. Lisa Manoban is of Thai descent and came to Korea to be a K-Pop star. In 2012, Rose was featured in label-mate G Dragon's song "Without You." Her voice was mentioned by many famous artists for her unique and soft tone. Later on, many famous artists all over the world stated that they wanted to work with her due to their love for her voice. The girls were supposed to debut in September 2012 but had to postpone their debut to January of the following year. YG Entertainment decided to change the members again and this resulted to their debut being postponed yet again to June 2013. They stated that Kim Euna has decided to leave the agency and decided to join another and ended up debuted in a different group. Lisa began to model and became the product model for nonagon. In 2014, Kim Jisoo, the last member of BlackPink began to appear more in videos with their label-mates in songs such as Epik High's "Happy Ending" and Hisuhyun's "I'm Different." The BlackPink members gained popularity through their presence on advertising and were popular models that companies hired to endorse their products. Furthermore, Jisoo began to appear more in TV and web dramas such as "The Producers."
Starting from June 1 to June 22, YG Entertainment began to release each member one by one and finalized the line up for the group. The group debuted with four members: Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo, and Rose. The group opened their very on Facebook and Instagram page. A video of the four dancing to Paris Goebel's choreography for "B**** Better Have My Money" became viral and the girls were gaining a lot of attention ahead of their debut. On August 5, their first single "Boombayah" was publicized and gained millions of fans within a few hours since the release of their song. They performed for the first time on stage on August 14 at SBS Inkiyago.
