A Darby Day

This island, Hawaii, the Big Island, is a freak.

Early in the AM, hurricane Darby came ashore on the eastern side, just 50 miles from our farm. We woke to beautiful sunny skies.

As the day moved on, we watched as the storm encircling the island, the sun was out over Honaunau. The Bay below our farm looked so inviting we went for a swim; the ocean was mid 80’s.

We got home, sun out, we can see the storm off in the distance, normal day. By 3 pm I got a satellite image, the storm covered the whole island except for a break in the sky right over South Kona.

We finished the day with a beautiful sunset, the pool heated to 96 degrees, and the wonderment of how all this is even possible.

So Darby moves on to Maui, we had a magical day playing and celebrating Sandra’s 19th birthday, who is a wonderful new addition to our family. Let’s see how lucky we are with Estelle.
