Having the report in hand gives the child, parents and school workers several advantages.
The psychological assessment report assists parents and school workers in:
- realizing the child's diagnosis
- determine his cognitive profile
- specify your personality type
- learning how to learn
- know your strengths and weaknesses
-provide strong benchmarks for interventions
If the kid has a learning disorder, it can:
- Have more time for exams
- Receiving help with remedial education at school
- Have small moments of rest during class
- Have the right to use technology support in the classroom
- If your child is gifted, he or she has the right to appropriate education. In some cases and under certain conditions, it can jump out of a class.
Some diagnoses (e.g. mental retardation) give parents the right to receive monthly Government supplements.
The derogation may allow children with special abilities to start school before the statutory age.
