Top 6 romantic songs from 90's era

Many people consider the 90s to be the golden era of Bollywood as the decade is filled with great movies of every genre whether it is comedy, drama, thriller, or action. The one genre that stood out the most of set a high bar was definitely the romance because of the iconic and nostalgic scenes along with the evergreen songs that took our hearts. There are a lot of songs that have dedicated fan bases. Those were the days with songs that were pure auditory bliss and dripped with emotions and creativity. It's not surprising that many of those songs are being reused and destroyed in films.

It was surprisingly hard for me to abridge my long list of my personal favorite 90's romantic songs into a list of six. I took a musical trip down memory lane and relistened the songs that formed the image of what it means to love and be loved.

So here are 6 classic 90’s songs for lovers that still have all our hearts.

1: “Tujhe Dekha To”—Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge

This song is undoubtedly the love anthem of all time and everyone would be in agreement. The melody of the stings and lyrics were so on point that they made even sarso de khet an iconic romantic place. Little unknown trivia, most people believe that the scene was shot in Punjab, but it was shot in the rural outskirts of Gurgoan.

2: Ek Ladki Ko Dekha - 1942: A Love Story

There is not a single guy who hasn’t been daydreaming about his crush while singing this song. I’m not going to write about how this song impacted pop culture and created a permanent position in your mind. What I am going to tell you is even king of romance Shahrukh Khan mumbled this song in Film “Main hu na” when he laid his eyes on Sushmita Sen. If SRK says a song is romantic, it’s got to be on the list of songs for lovers.

3: Pehla Nasha - Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar

The song title is self-explanatory and speaks volumes. We have all heard this song when we had a tiny crush on some cutie in our class or neighbor. And really felt the part “Udta hi phirun hawan mein” because being in love did give us butterflies and we kept imagining all the times we spent together or the next day we were going see that person. It still remains one of the favorite songs

4: Dheere Dheere Se Meri Zindagi Mein Aa Na - Aashiqui

In my opinion, the movie "Aashiqui" is packed with so many evergreen songs like "Tuu Meri Zindagi Hain", "Mera Dil Tere Liye" and many more. The song which made a mark on the music industry with a permanent marker is unmistakably "Dheere Dheere se".

Even the yo yo honey singh remake was amazing. It is, in fact, one of the best songs for new lovers.

5: Jab Koi Baat Bigad Jaye - Jurm

I doubt that anyone who is reading this has seen this film "Jurm" but I am still 100% positive that you are familiar with this song. Most of us have used this song to make amends with our partner and 8 out of 10 times it actually works.

6: Ishq Tadpave - Sukhbir

Growing up in a Punjabi family, it was hard for me not to fall in love with this song. Although, it is not as romantic as the songs we talked about but this is my list and I am giving it the sixth spot. This song has made a major impact on our culture that if somebody yells "Oh ho ho ho" we can not stop our self to yell out "Oh ho ho ho Oh ho ishq tera tadapave" with the same enthusiasm if not more.
