High strangeness in life

(High strangeness in life)

I look back now and realize how strange life can be. In 1972 I was hooked on a TV show call “Emergency”. The two Firemen actors were John Gage and Roy Desoto. They took us for a ride along every week on Squad 51, Los Angels County Paramedics. It was still a Hollywood show, but good.

It was 1992, I was asked if I wanted to be an extra in an episode of "MacGyver", they needed real firemen to make it look good and handle the equipment. The show titled “The Prometheus Syndrome”. I show up in LA and on the cast is actor Randolph Mantooth, “John Gage” from the TV show “Emergency” 20 years older. That was a treat to work with someone that inspired me to become a Firefighter.

For the next few years I was called for work on:

“Demolition Man” Sylvester Stallone and a very new Sandra Bullock,

“Fearless” Jeff Bridges,

“Beverly Hills cop 2” Edie Murphy and a TV show called “Chicago Hope”.

Now to finish off the strangeness of life, I am given a new Firefighter to work with on Medic Engine #1. His name is John. So for the next four years John and Roy are playing out real life “Emergency” that started it all.
