Wanted: Personal Finance Teacher

 

Only 24 states require personal finance curriculum in high schools, writes LinkedIn Influencer Jean Chatzky, and she says many parents feel "decidedly unqualified" to teach the topic to their kids. Blogger Yanely Espinal says personal finance should be taught as a topic in high schools, similar to biology and math in order to level the playing field for students who don't get lessons from their parents. Recently, 87% of respondents surveyed by Equifax aged 18-29 said "yes" when asked if personal finance should be a required high school course.
