Milford Sound, located in the South Island in New Zealand, is considered by many the 8th Wonder of World. After taking a boat cruise around the fjord, I couldn't agree more.
Epic Waterfalls
It's not a secret that New Zealand has hundreds of amazing waterfalls from the top of the North Island, down to far South of the South Island. Milford Sound, especially on a rainy day, is home to dozens of permanent and temporary waterfalls dropping down from the titanic cliffs.
The most important ones that you certainly need to visit are the following:
1. Lady Elizabeth Bowen Falls (permanent, 162 m)
2. Stirling Falls (permanent, 151 m)
3. Four Sisters (temporary waterfalls, available only when it's raining)
Wildlife
Should you be lucky enough, you will be able to spot penguins jumping playfully around the ship or spot seals climbed on Seal Rock enjoying a fine weather.
Hiking - Walks
From short hikes to multi-day hikes, Milford Sound has it all. The Lookout Track is a short 10 minutes return tramp that provides you with an elevated view of Milford Sound! On the other hand, the Milford Track is a 4-day hike, probably the most famous in New Zealand,
