# Adjust the thermostat settings: Do
not have the temperatures too low in the summer or two high in the winter. You
may like it that way, but the more extreme the temperatures are, the harder the
system has to work and the more money you would need to spend. It is
recommended that you set the thermostat to 68 in the winter and 78 in the
summer. Lowering the temperature by just 1 degree could be enough to help
reduce all of your heating costs by 3%.
# Use the fan wisely: Using a
ceiling fan can be a good way to circulate air and keep you cool. This can
reduce your need for air conditioning. You can keep it at a higher number and
not have to worry about feeling too warm.
# Regular maintenance: This extra
step will make sure that the heater and air conditioner are working to their
full potential all the time.
