Everyone or every business should have a claim to fame; you’re few seconds of wow. It was a small group of tourist in kayaks going across Kealakekua Bay. I was asking the usual questions, where are you from? Husband and wife in one of the Kayaks said from, “DC”. So I joke, the President gave you some time off. They looked at me, looked at each other, “Well yes he did”, they said. It turns out that they were both Secret Service. The First Family had just left Hawaii and the two took some well deserved time off. He was attached to the President and She the First lady. We talked the morning away, had a great trip. After, I invited them to the farm for some coffee and another tour, they followed us home.
I gave them a few pounds of coffee with the deal being, get it into the White house. So a week goes by and I get an e-mail, “The coffee is in the West Wing, the Presidents Chief of Staff is enjoying a cup of Rojo Kona Coffee, I am still trying to get the Boss to have one”. Our few seconds of coffee fame, a true story.
