Chicago's Rising Stars Part 3 (Calboy)

Aka 147 Calboy, is a rapper from Chicago’s South Side who has a melodic rap flow and is often compared to Lil Durk in terms of style. Calboy has been rapping since 2016 releasing early tracks such as “Sprite” and “Church,” but he hadn’t gained much traction until he released “Bam Bam” in 2017 which put him on Chicago’s map. During that time he also released a few mixtapes which included tracks such as “Fatality” and “Vv’s” which turned some more heads. However, it wasn’t until he dropped the visual for “Envy Me” is when he started getting serious attention. From getting  interviews with Rolling Stone Magazine and rumored record deals to having other known Chicago rappers remix his song such as Montana of 300. I put him at the number 2 spot for the following reasons. First of all, the Youtube video for “Envy Me” currently has 45 million views. and it has 2.3 million streams on Sound Cloud. He already has been able to gain nationwide attention off of one song and has been rapping for only 3 years. Personally I see potential for him to blow up on a national scale. He’s also been interviewed by Billboard magazine and Genius lyrics just to name a few. We shall see if he can keep on bringing the heat and possibly some features!
